There are a lot of Year 3 home-learning packs currently available to download for free. If you are looking for things to do beyond the activities posted on the website, the please do check out websites such as Twinkl, Classroom Secrets, White Rose Maths and Phonics Play which cover a range of topics and skills.
However, please remember that children this year have not yet covered the whole curriculum so please do not worry if they find some things difficult, particularly in Maths. Areas such as division and written calculation methods have only been visited lightly. This is a great time to help your child consolidate what they already know so, if some of the Year 3 things are proving tricky then maybe use the Year 2 resources instead. Maths is a continuous progression and prior learning is easily forgotten with a gap in learning, so keeping mental skills fresh is going to help your child retain their knowledge ready for their return for school.
Spellings and handwriting are also very important to maintain. Use Spelling Shed to help your child which has targeted words on there, ask your class teacher if you need your password. The more your child uses it, the more the words will appear in response to your child's particular needs and understanding. Encourage your child to try things more than once, it can be disheartening to them if they can't do it first time. They may be reluctant to try again but by revisiting, they will soon start to progress. Start off with the easier levels until they get into the swing of things.
Most importantly, please contact us if you have any questions or queries.
