Forest School!
We are incredibly lucky to have a huge wildlife area (or forest) in our school grounds, and this year we are making better use of it than ever. Mrs. Marriott, is leading Forest Schools sessions with children in year 3. Children love the opportunity to work outdoors. The children who have worked in the forest have learnt how to light a fire, make a watertight shelter, design and make an obstacle course for an animal, and many other practical activities. Judging by their dirty faces and excited voices when they have returned, everyone who has been lucky enough to work over there has thoroughly enjoyed it!
All of our learning skills (resilience, resourcefulness, reciprocity and reflectiveness) are used in the Forest Schools sessions, and there are lots of chances for you to follow your own interests, work on your own or in a group and get hands-on with nature.
Enjoy!
