Dear Parents, Carers and Families.

I do hope that you are keeping well during these very difficult times.  My wishes go to those of you who are isolating. I hope that you are doing ok.

We have been doing our very best to keep you updated with daily information from Public Health and Government bulletins.  All information is on the website and this will continue to be our main source of providing information for you.  We will also use Text, Facebook and Twitter to ask you to visit the website for the latest news.

This letter is to update you with information regarding potential school closures and to help you to support children at home.

Should the school need to close then children will receive the following:

  • A small pack of work and ideas for learning at home.
  • An exercise book which we ask you to use for whatever they do at home.
  • We have set up a new email for each class for you to communicate with your class teacher and to post photos of work etc. or any worries you may have. These will start working only in the event of a school closure. Until this point you can contact the school in the usual way. Please see email addresses on the reverse of this note.
  • Login information for spelling shed – a new resource for children to access
  • Login information for times table rock stars - a current resource which children access
  • Details on how to find home learning resources on our websites.

In addition the paper pack there will several links on the website that will direct you to resources for parents.  Some of which you may already be accessing.  We are also including school resources organised into year groups etc. If you have any questions please use the emailing system.

I do remind you that this is to communicate about learning in a positive light.  If you are concerned in any way there is an email address for Head and Deputy which will be checked daily during school term time.  Please remember as a staff we are doing everything we can and will continue to support the school community going forward.

This is a strange transition from my time as Interim Head as we prepare to welcome a new Headteacher after Easter.  In the meantime, and beyond I will do all I can to support Potters Green School along with the longstanding dedicated team of staff who have always supported the school.  I offer my sincere thanks to them all. They are a truly great group of professionals.

I do hope that this period of national upheaval is as short lived as possible with as many people as possible staying healthy and well.  Look after yourselves please one and all.

Sincere best wishes to you    -   D Newman and D King
