I hope you are all well and keep safe.
It is now week three of school closure and I am sure that you are continuing to do well with home learning. I know it must be very difficult for the children and also for you being at home all the time. In addition, there is the continuous worry of the current situation.
As a school we are trying to help as much as we can. Staff are putting online learning resources onto the website and sharing links as we find interesting things to do.
If you are struggling to access or feel that you need additional work, please contact your class teacher via the emails provided or call the school office.
Teachers have been calling individual children this week – just to say hello – and to see if there is anything they can help with. Teachers and children have a special relationship and this call is purely just a friendly chat.
We have uploaded a link to a book for children about the Coronavirus. It explains in simple terms what the virus is and how we can work together to beat it. I have shared it with my grandchildren but please check that you are happy for your child to access it.
Free School Meal vouchers have been applied for and people should begin receiving them this week. As you can appreciate, this is a massive task nationally and unfortunately it takes time for the national database to process information. The system indicates that our school has now been processed so you should see your vouchers arriving.
We will be saying goodbye to Mrs Ashworth this week as she retires after more than 20 years at Potters Green. If you would like to send her a farewell message, please use your class email or email me at Head@pottersgreen.org.uk.
We will of course celebrate properly when we are able to. There will be a separate farewell message to her on the website.
