At Potters Green we provide the children with a skills based curriculum which is embedded within a topic.
Children from years 1 to 6 are provided with a range of opportunities to develop their history, geography, music, dance, computing, design and technology and art and design skills across a variety of topics.
At the beginning of each new term a challenge is presented to each year group which links to their topic and this provides the children with a focus for their learning, something to get them excited! This could be a problem to solve or an event to plan for, to name just two possibilities. By the end of the term each child shares their learning with an audience and demonstrates how the challenge has been met. We call these our celebrations of learning. Have a look below to see some images from our celebrations!
Within our 'Creative' Curriculum not only do we prepare your children to be Historians, Musicians and so on, we prepare them to be able to succeed in the future. Meeting visitors, taking part in educational visits, leading their own learning, building knowledge of the world around them, facing challenges, providing their own solutions and developing their learning skills too, are all elements of our 'Creative' Curriculum.
